You might get it running, but even without any thorough meditation on
this, I'd say you need to dump most of the UI anyway to make it
feasible for usage on the device. Not only due to the small screen
size[1], but also for performance reasons. The device is very limited
memory wise (for desktop app scale), and basically you don't need or
can to have all the options present for a device like this.

Doesn't sound like it would be related to Maemo in any way.

[1] A nice way to "preview" the apps in maemo is to run them on the
same display as the maemo env from outside the scratchbox. The
attached image looks suprisingly good given the small space, but it
has unreadably small font size so it doesn't tell you the whole
thruth. You have to remember that the physical size of the env in
maemo is roughly 1,5 times bigger than that of the device due to
different DPI:s.
