well, at least information on Subversion is easy to find. Google
returns subversion.tigris.org as first hit for both 'Subversion' and
'svn' as queries. I would recommend reading the Subversion book, which
can be found in vicinity.

Regarding Garage: The label at the bottom of the page
https://garage.maemo.org/ tells us that the software in use is
GForge. The GForge User Manual is four clicks[1] away from that, I
suggest you start with that.
