[maemo-developers] [maemo-developers] Installing Perl/PDL on the Nokia770

 I am trying to install PDL (Perl Data Language)
on the Nokia770 with some success. But I still hva
some
issues left.
  In the first place I did not manage to install the
perl
package in the maemo repository on scratchbox. I did
an original
compilation and installation of Perl.
  I then compiled PDL with the plplotting package by
compiling
several plotting libraries (gd and plplot proper).
  I got PDL working with all the compiled
functionalities on scratchbox (generating graphics on
the xwindow and on jpeg,gif,png files).
  Then I transferred the files to the Nokia (via
tarring in maemo and untarring on the nokia). I got
PDL running and could plot
figures on xwindow and ps files. Unfortunately, I
cannot generate
gif, png or jpeg figures, via gd library on the nokia.
The problem is that the nokia is "unable to load
driver gd". I have tried changing LD_LIBRARY_PATH with
no succes.

  Does anybody know why is there this difference in
the behaviour
of maemo (1.1) and the nokia which is unable to load
the driver
(I think because it cannot load the library)?

  Any hint welcome.
