[maemo-developers] [maemo-developers] device appears bricked after installing 2006

I installed the beta version at guadec, and that worked for a week or so.
this morning, the device got into the "turns itself off on startup"
behavior, so, I figured, lets go and fetch the latest version, and flash
that.
it flashed the loader, the secondary image, the kernel, and boom, failed
with a protocol error.
now, my device doesn't want to start any more.
what procedure should I follow to get it back to a functionnal state ?
