Sure. A framework would help but the hw limitation is still there.

=) Something I've been asking for long time, but apparently certain ASIC designers have
funny (fuzzy?) ideas about HW/SW interactions.
However 770 is the first device without gsm radio. Phones don't care
about long off periods because tipically they have to wake up
periodically to chat with the base station.
