I doubt anyone has compiled mysql in maemo. And i seriously doubt its 
feasible because its quite large and takes a lot of cpu to run.

But someone has compiled and released sqlite. Its a tiny sql software 
and works apparently quite nicely in 770.

So try using sqlite.
