Well... hopefully there will be something like a "unstable" repository
on maemo.org in the not so distant future, for us hackers.

But it is obviously a good idea to try to use packages also for
official updates of the system software so that everybody can avoid
reflashing the device to get security updates and other bugfixes.

So, no official promises yet, but I'd say the direction in which to go
is pretty clear...
