There was a thread on lkml about 2GB cards :

It ends with this patch (not merged afaik):

So, either :
- we need this patch
- the patches from Nokia inside the 770 kernel are supporting 2GB cards
but your card doesn't work with it

Maybe looking at the current 770 kernel sources may give some glue but
imho, only the Nokia kernel devs can give more infos about this...
