Hello Parminder,
that depend upon you distribution, but in most case,
at LOGIN screen, select Punjabi as Language

on your machine, there must be
-Punjabi fonts must be install
-Punjabi package (depend upon your dist) must be install

Can u pls tell me what is your distribution? then
I can help u more

(now, change is files is not major works as most to configuration file are 
with GUI interface)

if face furter any issue regarding language, pls update me, I will try my best
