OK, then let me be more precise...
I see definitely shut-downs, i.e. power off and I have to manually
switch the device on again (pressing the power button).
In all events I can remember the battery was never empty in those cases.
It definitely happened with the last two official image releases (end of
2005 and the latest from 2006).
I have some additional applications installed.
I also always restored my settings backup in order to preserve
especially settings like the WEP keys.
I was not yet able to find any common scheme in the shut-downs. It
happened with some applications running (like the Notes application and
causing data loss) but also without.
The only application that I have always running is the
Bluetooth-keyboard applet - I am unsure right now but I think it
happened once to me even without it.

I guess that's all information I can provide.
