We at INdT are working hard on Python development.

There will be *major* improvements in Python support on the next SDK 
version (and product image), summarized in the following:

- Full support (i.e.: bindings) for Hildon widgets and libOSSO.
- Complete Hildon and LibOSSO API documentation for Python
- A comprehensive "how to" on Python development for Maemo platform.
- Gazpatcho
- Bluetooth support using PyBlueZ
- Bindings for GStreamer and D-Bus
- PyGame (SDL bindings)

In other words: Python is indeed a strong development platform for 
Maemo. Just wait for its version :-)
