[maemo-developers] [maemo-developers] search file path and n770 start up?

Please help me for these 2 questions, 

how can I search for a file existence in n770 and get the file path?
for example I want to know the location where somebody save a file named test.txt.
its like the search tool. does it need to be root?

how can I put my program in n770 startup, so it can run every time the n770 switch on or restarted.
