Hi, I just started an attempt at compiling and run the Hildon Desktop on a regular Desktop environment. I will keep track of the process and problems on http://maemo.org/maemowiki/HildonDesktopPortability. The aim is to see how much things break, in particular improve our scalability. I remember seeing similar efforts some time ago on this list, but didn't find the posts in the archive. Please feel free to add your issues on the wiki page. I am working with versions from trunk (Sardine), on Ubuntu Edgy. I am planning to use native versions of GTK+, gconf, gnome-vfs, and if possible matchbox. So far I have the dependencies to maemo-af-desktop compiling. -- Johan Bilien <jobi at via.ecp.fr>
