They are! :) What you should be doing is find "Maemo Mapper" in the
ApplicationCatalogue2006 wiki page on maemo.org, and then copy the
"Repository", "Distribution" and "Components" values that it lists
into the "Tools > Application Catalogue > New" dialog of the
Application Manager.  After that, you should find Maemo Mapper (and
all other applications from the repository that you just added) in the
Application Manager.

This is a tad long winded, agreed, and a new method is being put in
place where you just click on a link and all the steps from above are
carried out automatically.

We don't want to make it too easy for people to install all kinds of
stuff that Nokia doesn't really control, yet.  It is too easy to hose
your system completely when a bad package appears in the "Extras"
repository, and we'd rather like that this happens only to people that
are aware of the risks and that can help themselves.

It is very possible that the Application Catalogue on maemo.org (in
its new, more friendly form) will be promoted more to 'normal
consumers'.
