What do you mean by avoiding 'keep backs'? apt-get upgrade alone will
result in
packages been held back. This http://maemo.org/maemowiki/SardineDistro page
suggests upgrading them manually with 'apt-get install' which works fine
(at least for me).
That's the recommended way.
I'm now adding a metapackage (hildon-application-framework) that will
hopefully
allow a proper dist-upgrade without anything held back. I think that
will work in
scratchbox but in the device with lots of stuff on top I suspect it will
not.

It the idea would be to keep with maemo 2.0 then yes, definitely. But it
makes much more
sense to move Sardine to 2.1, which I will do now.

Thanks. I have now been able to reproduce the problem. For some strange
reason it was not
hitting me but it is now.

I'm going to restart Sardine with a 2.1 baseline and rebuild everything.
This is not something I'm happy about since
it causes a discontinuity in the archive that will force people using
Sardine to reflash / reset rootstraps.
But given that Sardine has been basically unusable for many weeks I
believe a clean
break is a small evil. As part of that clean break glib I will try to
regress glib to 2.8.6 which should fix the problem.
