"gdk-pixbuf" is part of gtk2, so no need to check it manually any more. There should be a configure.ac or configure.in where you can change that using the unbelievably arcane M4 language (good luck...). If you want an almost clean configure.ac (as clean as I got it without repeatedly banging my head on the keyboard - yes, automake is that bad) to start from, take mine: https://garage.maemo.org/plugins/scmsvn/viewcvs.php/trunk/configure.ac?root=ssh-key-manager&view=log (you can also use the entire project as a clean starting point for a maemo project since it's just a skeleton so far - if you are quick enough ;)) Ross is right, porting a gtk1 application is so easy, it boggles my mind why gtk1 applications are still around unported (the API is pretty much compatible, too - with a few exceptions).
