Umm ...ok, I think maybe you need to spend some time in Debian or Ubuntu because the package management is one of the absolute joys of Debian based distros. If you have spent time in it, then possibly there is something you have not quite understood. Package management is really one of the things the entire planet loves about Debian. Could you explain further what the issue might be so we could offer help.
