  Hi Cezary,

I merged your 'GPS-Info patch' for Maemo-Mapper 1.1
http://eko.one.pl/files/n770/maemo-mapper/gpsinfo/gpsinfo-20061002.diff
with my set of patches.

My patches modify the 1.1 version of John Costigan's Maemo Mapper to
provide a second set of URI/Cache, e.g. to alternate between street
maps and satellite images. The ESC-hardware-key now toggles the
URI/Cache settings. (In the original version it toggles show/hide
tracks.)

The modified version also introduces the possibility to operate with
closed cover. (This is very useful for outdoor activities, such as
hiking, walking, climbing, kanuing, cycling,..) If you want to
disable the default behaviour, which disconnects the bluetooth GPS
connection when the cover is closed, you have to unset the global
configuration parameter 'Tools' -> 'Control Panel' -> Connectivity'
-> 'Disconnect when cover on device'
(this is Gconf-Key /system/osso/connectivity/IAP/disconnect_on_cover).

Here are the patches to be applied against John Costigan's original
source file maemo-mapper.c:

http://armin-warda.de/maemo-mapper-1.1-cj-aw-4.patch
http://armin-warda.de/maemo-mapper-1.1-cj-aw-5.patch

The complete modified source with all patches applied:
http://armin-warda.de/maemo-mapper-1.1-cj-aw-5.c

And an ARMEL-executable for testing:
http://armin-warda.de/maemo-mapper-1.1-cj-aw-5

No deb package yet.

To try this version, you must have ITOS2006 with Maemo-Mapper 1.1
installed and then have to perform these step on the device via
osso-xterm or ssh:

$ gainroot
# cd /usr/bin
# mv maemo-mapper maemo-mapper.orig
# wget http://armin-warda.de/maemo-mapper-1.1-cj-aw-5
# mv maemo-mapper-1.1-cj-aw-5 maemo-mapper
# chmod +x maemo-mapper

Not yet tested much.

  regards, Armin.

P.S.: ...how about merging PoI into this version?
