[maemo-developers] [maemo-developers] MMC - multiblock writes

Hello,

since reading from MMC is fast now but writing is slow (300KB/s) I tried
to enable multiblock writes [0] and is seems to not to crash
immediatelly. In fact it seems it is working :-) I'm not sure multiblock
writes are safe on OMAP 1710. I asked Juha who seems to have some
success with unspecified OMAP chip here [1] but got no answer.

Anyway the kernel is here http://fanoush.webpark.cz/maemo/#mmcplus below
the high-speed one. Again I have not tested this specific kernel since I
have it compiled with MMC drivers as modules but it works for me for few
days.

It would be nice to have some info from Nokia whether OMAP 1710 really
should support multiblock writes safely (host driver returns the number
of bytes successfully transferred to the card prior to a bus error
occuring during the data phase). And another thing of course is if the
omap mmc driver have no bugs regarding multiblock writes since so far it
was not enabled in MMC block layer at all.

Frantisek
