http://maemo.org/maemowiki/GoogleSoC2007 updated, now you can see the (more or less) current status of the projects submitted. - Projects with one and only clear mentor have been assigned. - There are other projects that have mentor candidates but still some details to be clarified. More than one mentor for a same project, same mentor in several projects and things like that. - Other projects have potential mentors around but nothing I can approve by clicking the right button. - It would be good to clarify these cases asap. Community mentors have got one week to select their projects, now it's time for the backup mentors to help orphan projects, if they wish. - I'm surprised about the small percentage of mentor votes we have for each project, even in the best ranked. I mean, all in all most of the mentors have ranked one or more projects, but only a few have gone through, say, more than 4-5. Most mentors if not all seem to be skilled and have a wide perspective. Can you help prioritizing projects with your votes, even in those projects that are not closely related to your interests? This applies to backup mentors as well. - It has been (unofficially?) said that after tomorrow Google is going to assign slots to the projects. I believe we will have more chances if we have more mentors in place and a bigger collection of opinions ranking the best candidates. -- Quim Gil - http://maemo.org
