Dialogs expect user interaction, take focus, and go away only on user interaction, banners don't have any of these properties. Besides, large enough, esthetically satisfactorily positioned close button ('X') would take quite a lot of space in a banner. As a result banners would cover significantly more of the screen and then you would really need to close the banners... > Another example: Some infoprints are there for a long time.
