Hmm by the way which version of doctools devkit are you using? Looks like 
version 1.0.7, which has been out for three months now has this 0.35.0 
version of intltool.

[sbox-gcc-arm: /scratchbox/devkits/doctools/bin] > ./intltoolize --version
intltoolize (GNU intltool) 0.35.0
