I suggest that you don't advocate following steps of manual editing of
.config files. It is considered as bad practice even though it works.

Note: in the .config file it says that don't edit the file but in this
case it is OK to edit file.
# Next, run make oldconfig so that the configurations become effective"

Why on the world we can't do "make menuconfig" and just copy sections
of .config to explain what changes happens to it after we selected
particular options as "module/in-built to kernel"?
