Hi, I'm Jaime Frutos Morales, a Systems Engineer from Madrid, Spain and I'm looking forward to being part of the Developer Device Program. I have some Open Source Software experience as a programmer, mainly with the GTK+ toolkit (C++ and Python bindings too) and Gnome/FreeDesktop technologies. I already have coded some patches for Gossip (http://developer.imendio.com/projects/gossip ) and some plugins for the Epiphany browser and Deskbar Applet (http://live.gnome.org/JaimeFrutosMorales ). I have also been the main developer of a P2P application in GTKmm (http://sourceforge.net/projects/easyp2p/ ). My plans to use the N800 device are these: - Port of Geany (http://geany.uvena.de/ ), a simple GTK+ text editor for programmers, to the Maemo platform to get experience with both the Maemo platform and the porting process. - Once I've done this, I will port Gossip to the Maemo platform. I will port Gossip's Telepathy brunch in order to benefit from all the IM connectors of the Telepathy framework. I'll be glad if I'm chosen, because I'm eager to get involved in the Maemo community as a coder. -- Jaime Frutos Morales Systems Engineer Blog: http://textoplano.livejournal.com
