With osso-email being crap, and no sign yet of Modest, the GUI mail
client space is very empty on Maemo, with my own Sylpheed[1] port the
most featureful.

Since the iPhone demo, I'm not sure desktop metaphors really work on a
mobile device, especially one with a screen as dense as the 770/N800 -
so I 'm hoping Sylpheed is a stop-gap until something better comes
along.

As Dave points out, mobile email is a big selling point - especially
to business, so I'd support any efforts to bring push, always-on, low
bandwidth email with a custom designed interface to Maemo. Telomer is
currently the best hope for this: so, IMHO, I think he should get a
discount code to encourage further development. This is a purely
selfish wish, as he's doing things which scratch my own itches.

Cheers,

Andrew

PS. Thanks for my discount code, my N800's on order :-)
