Hi! A new set of tools for developers has been made available in the maemo repository. These are the tool packages just released, some of them include multiple tools: bluez-hcidump - analyzes bluetooth HCI packets htop - a nice interactive process viewer nano - a lightweight editor netcat - the 'TCP/IP swiss army knife' sysstat - tools for analyzing system performance tcpdump - network monitoring and data acquisition tool wireless-tools - tools for linux Wireless Extensions x-debug-tools - utilities for debugging X11 server and clients xresponse - measure UI response times to mouse click events xrestop - a resource usage monitor for X11 server These packages have been added to the list of officially supported tools, which also includes links to the corresponding man pages: http://maemo.org/development/maemo_tools_index.html I'd also like to use this opportunity to introduce myself to the maemo developer community. I joined the OSSO team in Nokia a bit over a month ago as a tools specialist and my job amongst other things is to see what kind of tools the maemo developer community is using and wanting to use. If possible I'll try to bring those tools eventually easily available for you guys. Don't be afraid to use the bugzilla to enter enhancement requests to the sdk/tools category. I hope to see many of you in GUADEC :-) Cheers, Juha -- Juha Kallioinen
