Yes I would say they are mostly legacy for existing plugins. They stil have a few advantages: . in process, which allows saving some memory and prevents having daemons mostly UI-less still link against GTK to present their status icon . possibility to select which one to show from the hildon-plugin-settings . unified interface with other hildon desktop plugins. -- Johan Bilien <jobi at via.ecp.fr>
