I'm trying to build a debian package for cairomm, using the original debian package. It needs debhelper, but it doesn't seem to be available in Sardine (It is available in Bora). I never fully understand apt-get errors but here they are in case they provide a clue: [sbox-SDK_ALPHA_X86: ~/packages_cairomm/cairomm-1.4.4] > apt-get install debhelper Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: debhelper: Depends: dpkg-dev (>= 1.7.0) but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages [sbox-SDK_ALPHA_X86: ~/packages_cairomm/cairomm-1.4.4] > apt-get install dpkg-dev Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done Some packages could not be installed. Done Note, selecting perl instead of perl5 perl is already the newest version. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 10 not upgraded. -- Murray Cumming murrayc at murrayc.com www.murrayc.com www.openismus.com
