I won't be so sure about that. Of all the people I have seen using IDEs 
(which is quite many) only one uses Eclipse. May be it is perfect for 
java development, but CDT isn't the best thing out there for 
C/gtk+/gnome programming, which maemo is mostly about.

I would still keep the options to encourage and support other IDEs for 
meamo development.
