[maemo-developers] wifi of 770 goes blind

my 770 wifi goes blind all in a sudden, I use a Dlink D614 without any
encry.
reflash to OS from 2007 hack to 2006 betas and final, the wifi remains blind
all the time.
tried to power off and detached the battery for a day, still blind.

here's some info from the iwlist on the blind 770:

iwconfig
lo    no wireless extensions.

wlan0    NOT READY ESSID:off/any
            Mode"Auto Channel:0 Access Point: Not-Associated
            Link Quality:- Signal level:- Noise level:0
            Rx invalid nwid:- invalid crypt:0 invalid misc:0

iwlist wlan0 scanning
wlan0    Interface doesn't support scanning

iwlist wlan0 retry
wlan0    no retry limit/lifetime information.

iwlist wlan0 freq
wlan0    no frequency information.

...
...

it's like the wifi chip is never there.
but before the wifi went blind, everything is perfect... so can I assume
this is a hardware failure? how 'd I fixed that if I can not sent the unit
back to nokia?
