Could you please specify the keyboard type name?
I have this keyboard

This keyboard did not support HID and had to use the kbdd tool
from this location http://fanoush.wz.cz/maemo/

I must say I have not tried it on the n800 yet.

I think you can just connect the keyboard to you pc and use xev or similar
in the kdb.c the code for alt-gr is 63 (0x3f)
