Obviously I've made some "friends" at Nokia. It looks like my gstreamer
comments hit a nerve with many people. That's unfortunate. But if
gstreamer gets fixed in maemo as a result then something good might
still come of it. Hopefully they'll fix gstreamer as quickly as we fixed
the above mentioned bug in Kagu.

If there is anything I've learned from Kagu (it's quality, engineering,
and design aside), it's that developers need a very thick skin and the
ability to glean useful information from less than ideal feedback. Users
don't always know how to voice their frustration while being politically
correct. In addition, they aren't always aware that you're listening.

In my opinion, developers should take all of that into account and do
their best to check their emotions at the door. The sad thing is that I
learned all of this the hard way on ITT a few days before I made such a
thoughtless comment myself, here. It's good (but doubly painful) to see
the dialog from both sides.
