I think it's also notable that most packagers don't even attempt this kind of methodical support for each release. I'm not sure if the place to fix this is in the SDK or in a proper build system for garage and the official maemo repository (since after the packages are built consistently the next step is to get them into the hands of users in a consistent way). The lack of an easy way to consistently build packages for all the flavors of maemo in the wild is definitely hurting the platform, though. Thanks, Mike Lococo
