I sent this e-mail only to Kumar by mistake.
But others may find it useful as well.

Did you check that, in the .desktop file, there is NO space at the end
 of EACH line ?

 This is my xournal.desktop file:

 [Desktop Entry]
 Encoding=UTF-8
 Version=0.4.2.1
 Type=Application
 Name=Xournal
 Comment=Take handwritten notes
 Exec=/usr/bin/xournal
 Icon=xournal
 X-Window-Icon=xournal
 X-Window-Icon-Dimmed=xournal
 X-Osso-Type=application/x-executable
 X-Osso-Service=com.nokia.xournal
 MimeType=application/x-xoj;

 When it was not working the Exec= entry was:

 "Exec=/usr/bin/xournal "
 and not
 "Exec=/usr/bin/xournal"

 That space was the issue.
 However, this is my com.nokia.xournal.service file:

 [D-BUS Service]
 Name=com.nokia.xournal
 Exec=/usr/bin/xournal

 Hope it helps.
