[maemo-developers] need help uploading to Extras

I have some packages that I'd like to add to the extras repository, but
I'm a total newb when it comes to packaging so I need help. I've read
the docs, but they usually assume I am familiar with debian packaging,
and that my program is written in C. In my case, I am able to create a
package that installs on the device just fine, but I've never interacted
with a repository as a developer. Also, my apps are written in Python,
so none of the docs work for me.

I have two apps I'd like to add, one of which is a little more complex
than the other.

The first is a hildonized version of the Sonata MPD client
(http://sonata.berlios.de/). I've uploaded my patched tarball and built
deb here: http://ywwg.com/maemo/ Version 1.5.2 is the latest version.

The second program is my PenguinTV RSS reader, which requires two
packages (these files are also at http://ywwg.com/maemo/). One is what
I've called "python2.5-gnome-extras," which is indeed built from the
gnome-python-extras sources, but which only provides support for
gtkmozembed. Everything else in that package is disabled in configure.
I hacked up this package manually since I don't know how to set up C
packages to build themselves.

Along with that package, I need to submit the main PenguinTV-3.65
package.

I'm confident of the basics -- that the packges don't brick machines,
that they correctly create menu items and, you know, run -- I just need
help with this last step.

thanks so much!
Owen Williams

ps,
and if anyone knows why my icons always come out so small in the
application menus, please let me know.
