I suspect it may be an Ubuntu issue. I was unable to flash my N800 with Diablo 
from my 64-bit Ubuntu 8.04 machine, though I managed OK from my 32-bit CentOS 
4.6 server.

My suspicion is that it's a HAL issue, but I haven't had the time or the 
inclination to investigate further.
