I also tried to do it this way (incorporating the above calls in qtgps[1]). It 
works, but as soon as I connect any application to gpsd (even telnet) gpsd 
gets zombified. As I'm a hobby hacker I'm pretty sure that I did something 
stupid in the code. Is the code for gpxview publicly available? If so I'd 
like to read resp. C&P portions of it :) .
