Hi, Today's LWN has an interesting article on a patchset being developed to give checkpoint & restart functionality to Linux: http://lwn.net/SubscriberLink/293575/03bb471d0d0b9261/ This'd effectively allow the kernel to freeze a process and restore it at a later date. The immediate thought in my mind was using this to help automatically deal with low-memory, low-battery and standby problems in Maemo. It's still very immature, but something Maemo kernel hackers may be interested in. Cheers, Andrew -- Andrew Flegg -- mailto:andrew at bleb.org | http://www.bleb.org/
