Hi, The background of the toolbar itself can be changed, since GtkToolbar calls the theme engine to paint the background. So, everything good at this point. The bad thing is that Maemo environment usually embeds the toolbar into HildonWindow and the toolbar borders that you can see are part of the HildonWindow theme. So, in order to theme the whole bottom bar, you need an application specific theme that changes HildonWindow and GtkToolbar themes.
