There is text field "adapter" in header of the vmdk file. That might explain the ide vs scsi drive. I think gparted would be less scary for most folks, but YMMV. Thanks for boosting the VM size. To answer Frank, yes, it might have been easier to add another virtual disk, but that would mean managing different filesystems. I wouldn't recommend any of our procedures to a linux novice, which is why I asked for the bigger size in the future. I wanted ot make it easier for the novice. Sincerely, Jason
