It's indeed not for use, the actual browser ui work is done in a private repository. Chinook uses tablet-browser-* which is a much newer version of browser-ui (as you noticed). Calling it a different architecture isn't reasonable. The architecture is effectively the same, the package names are slightly different and the code is slightly different, but the general structure / design / interfacing hasn't changed that much. Antonio should not have recommended that directory to you (or anyone).
