I realize now that the wrapper I have is not what I need for this. It's
still useful - lets one run the PDF viewer or media player from the
command line, e.g. to iterate through all movies in a directory without
crafting a playlist. Eero said it needed to wait a bit before exiting; I
added a sleep() and made a Debian package.

I'm still stuck trying to pass a file to a hildonized application. I
looked on the maemo tutorial and found how to update the MIME registry,
and built maemopad, so I can select a file with type foo/bar in the file
manager and have maemopad start. But like mplayer it won't open the file.
I guess it doesn't have the hooks. I was previously able to hook foo/bar
to "notes" in /etc/gnome/defaults.list
and download a foo/bar file in the browser - that worked OK.
Do you happen to know of an example using this launch hook ? I had hoped
that maemopad would have it.
