Claws.
It takes a (long) while for the initial sync but after that it is mostly 
fine (especially if you set the folder to show only unread messages). 
Oh, and it does threading: I set it to show the threads collapsed, so it 
doesn't take a big amount of screen space[*] and I can tell at once if 
there are messages I'm interested in, otherwise a "mark all messages 
read" will do.

[*] besides, I reduced the size of the fonts it uses, the default ones 
are too big for my taste.
