[maemo-developers] Switching N810 to USB host mode?

Andrew,
Yes this is the same problem I had. It is simply a pain to get the
n810 into host mode. It gets stuck in B_IDLE. Please vote for - the
bug at- https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3026. It shouldn't take
too much effort to get it applied as I've provided a patch...

The 'USB Device not supported' message is normal. It's actually a good
sign as you won't see that if you're not in host mode. (there's a USB
whitelist specified in the kernel driver. Unless your device is
listed, the device will display as unsupported. It may still work, but
you'll see the popup. Ignore it...)

The main issue I had was that I couldn't get the n810 into host mode
unless I was 'plugged in' in peripheral or OTG mode.

If you can get into host mode from peripheral mode (i.e.- while
plugged in as a USB HD) but not from scratch or boot up,then we're in
the same boat.

As before, I'd be happy to email you the patched kernel image for you
to try. But if it works for you, please vote for bug 3026 at
bugs.maemo.org so that it gets fixed in the next release...

Cheers,
Charles Werbick
