Any reason why you cannot use the python interpreter from pymaemo
project? See http://pymaemo.garage.maemo.org/installation.html for
installation instructions (it is available in extras).

As said in another message in this thread, you can try to replace the
qemu emulator of your scratchbox installation. It will at least get
rid of those "sem_post: ..." errors. Instructions for how to download,
compile and build it (using a couple of scripts) are in
http://qemu-arm-eabi.wiki.sourceforge.net/
