[maemo-developers] What is "/var/lock/browser_extensions.stamp" used for?

Anyone knows what is "/var/lock/browser_extensions.stamp" used for?
This file is created by microb-engine.postinst:
...
echo > /var/lock/browser_extensions.stamp
...

But I didn't see when this file is used in source code.
