Any steps should be done in the direction of having the known 4 areas of most Linux distributions: official / free official / non-free unofficial / free unofficial / non-free SDK and other officially supported developer tools need to be together under a *.nokia.com domain. extras and other software not officially supported need to be together under a *.maemo.org domain. If the problem is that developers are not aware of official tools other than the SDK, the solution is not to add them to extras. If the problem is that those packages are needed as dependencies, then perhaps extras could be configured in a way to be aware of the neighbor repository? What is clear is that there is no sense of maintaining same packages twice. -- Quim Gil marketing manager, open source Maemo Software @ Nokia
