Sure, but some structure is needed. In the case of the Application Manager we seem to have most pieces in place but please do not expect to have a same level of response now for any component that might receive contributions now. Because we miss the infrastructure and because now we are in the very middle of this Fremantle jump. > The community has plans, Nokia, but they're really hard to act on > unless we know what you're up to. Help us to help you. :) Let's use this Application Manager as a test. We have the essential: an empowered lead developer and a git repository. We need to put in place the rest: - Having UI and product management in the loop. Working on this as we speak. - Having integrated releases. Diablo is out through SSU. The application manager will be in the Fremantle SDK since its first release. - Development worklow? Do you want to have a structured process with an agreed set of features in scope, a UI plan and so on or do you see better to continue the ad hoc approach of discussion+patches? Specially if you expect us providing i.e. nice icons this is not something that needs more planning from our side. - Collaboration channels? Do you want something like a garage environment + git + bugs.maemo.org or do you prefer to continue the thread in maemo-developers? -- Quim Gil marketing manager, open source Maemo Software @ Nokia
