I was looking into speeding up some of my image-related apps and one of the options is to employ the DSP. I even found that the DSP Image library has functions that pretty much cover everything I need (histograms, motion estimation). I looked into the http://wiki.maemo.org/Programming_the_DSP wiki page and the lib itself, http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/sprc101.html and started dabbling with it, but it's rough terrain all right, so I'd like to ask if anyone used the TI DSP Image Library (or parts of it) successfully with NITs, or has a few words of advice (DSP ASM scares me a bit :)
