[maemo-developers] Maemo platform for other manufactures and vertical market?

Sorry to put the topic here, I know this is a Dev focus mail list but I can
not find any other mail list for this topic

If you took a look at Mobile Internet Device market, for the software
platform players, maemo, mobilin, unbuntu and probably android are there,
but looks like only Nokia tablet device is maemo based.

So my question is "Possible for other company to utilize maemo platform to
build their own device?"

Technical perspective, I saw from some blogs saying that you can not get
100% necessary components from maemo.org. Does that mean definitely you can
not build a maemo device without special support from Nokia?
